This is a poem about a short story I'm working on about a girl in the 1700's and her relationship with her parents.

The Ghost Story of Silence
Have you ever felt choked
Choked by the words that you most desperately wanted to say
It should be so simple
Just unclench your teeth
Relax your lips
And allow your tongue to move
But you don't
And you won't
Because once those words are out there's no going back
All will be known
And you will be the cause of much pain suffering and confusion
So you just sit there
And remain silent
What else are you to do after all
So sit there
Let the pain of words unsaid drive itself in
Let the sorrow settle in your bones
For your name is Silence
And Pain is your father
And Sorrow your mother
The child of yells
The spawn of screams
Forever you will stay in the corner
Sitting down in silence
Feeling silent tears of blood run down your hallowed cheek face
Your heart beating against your ribs
Each beat saying the same thing
Speak
Speak
Speak
But you won't
Remain silent young weakling
Let guilt take away your hunger
Let the void in your soul starve you
Allow the screams in your head to slowly consume you
So you become engulfed in your own madness
For Silence is thee name
Pain thy father
Sorrow thy mother
Your teeth are welded together
Lips sewn shut
Tongue decayed from lack of use
For all of eternity you'll be enshrouded in silence
A ghost of a child that had no voice
A wandering specter whose wails are only heard by the wind
Such is the destiny of the child called Silence
Pain being its father
Sorrow its mother
Listen carefully and you can hear the silence that said more than words of the ear
