I ran. I ran as fast as I could. I've never ran this fast in my life, until now. My legs were starting to ache and my heart was burning up to the point where it hurt. Two women and a man were chasing after me in full speed. They didn't look friendly, at all. The women were dressed in dull colored dresses and the man wore a raggedy brown suit, which didn't look well.
"Please, come back!" one of the women shouted out.
"No! I'm never going back!" I barked.
I ran around cars and buildings, to get rid of them. I didn't even hesitate to move around pedestrians, I just pushed my way right through. There was an alley around the corner of the block. The alley is the best place to hide, that way they wouldn't be able to find me and they would give up searching. I checked behind to see if they were still following me. Yup, they still are.
I ran a little faster than usual, and ran right into the alley. Once I got there, I hopped beside a dumpster and sat there quietly until it was safe to get out. I was breathing heavily, placing my head against the building's brick wall. I took a small peek from the side of the dumpster.
"I think she went this way!" the man said, pointing to the opposite direction of where I actually was.
I saw them running straight forward, away from me. I let out a sigh of relieve and stood up. However, I saw two shadows from the corner of my eye, snickering. My heart stopped. I didn't want to turn around. I wanted to run away from here because I knew something terrible will happen. But I turned around anyways.
Two guys with baggy pants, sweatshirts, and caps were making their way towards me. I took a few steps back, making a fist against my chest. I was trembling.
"Hey Robby. We got ourselves a juicy one tonight, huh?" one of them said.
Robby chuckles, "got that right Will."
I didn't want this to happen. I didn't want my life to end right here, just when I broke free from those horrid people. I was frightened. I took a couple more steps back, and each time I moved back, the guys would move forward.
"W-what do you want?" I asked, quivering.
Both guys looked at each other as though both of them knew what they both wanted. Their hands reaching out to me, "You." they said together.
There was a lump in the back of my throat that wouldn't go away after swallowing. I felt hot and my hands were boiling. I didn't know what to do. I was glued to the ground, legs paralyzed. Get out of there! It's too dangerous! Leave now! A voice in my head shouted out. It was a woman's voice. My conscious? I shook the thought out of my head and listened to it. I quickly turned around and just as I gathered all my might to run, I collided with a strong, metal box. I fell to the ground, head bleeding. I've forgotten about the dumpster behind me. I was laying on the ground, moaning. I put my hand on my bleeding head, and stung the wound. The guys stood near me, looking down at me, smiling.
"Ha, what a dumbass," Will said, crouching beside me. "This was easier than I thought."
No, this isn't happening. I've failed. My eyes slowly began to close. Tears racing down my cheeks. This is the end.
I began to hears foot steps from the entrance of the alley, then it made a full stop.
"Now now, you're doing it all wrong, " a man with a deep voice said. "This isn't the way girls should be treated."
Robby and Will turn their heads with curiosity, and face the man causing the commotion. They both whip out their pocket knife and walk towards him. What's going on? I thought. Don't worry, you're safe now. The voice in my head said.
Robby spits to the side. "You got something to say, pretty boy?"
The man was standing boldly and sturdy, with both his hands resting on his hips. He grinned. The man took both guy's heads and clashed them together. The guys moaned, holding their heads in great pain. The man takes Will and jabs his knee into his gut. He then lifts the guy singlehandedly by the collar and tosses him into the dumpster. The man next takes Robby and bashes his fist into his face. The man shakes the pain off his hand while Robby screams in agony with his hands covering his face. The man does the same and throws Robby into the dumpster, shutting the lid tightly. He brushes off his shoulders and walks towards the unconscious girl, laying on the ground with a bleeding wound across her forehead. He stands looking over her with his hand stroking his hairless chin. I tried to open my eyes, but I only achieved to open them half closed. I stared at the man with a blurry vision, couldn't make out the features. I kept hearing deep voices but weren't clear enough to hear. Suddenly, I was floating in mid air. I heard a car being unlocked and felt as though I was being placed on an oddly shaped couch. The atmosphere smelled of leather and cigarettes. Then I heard a door being closed and an engine roaring to life. And before I knew it, something or someone, was taking me away.
