Two of my best friends told me that one day they want to join the military. This is for them. It will be followed by another poem.

Soldier:

Death and destruction

That is what I see

And the pain I feel

Is oh so real.

I'm fighting for everything I believe

And for everyone

Who believes in me.

I'm counting down the days

Until I come home

I don't know

If I'll make it

But I hope I do.

I don't want to die,

Not here,

But if I die

At least I'll die proud and

I hope that you'll be proud of me

'Cause I'm just an American Soldier

Fighting for the good old

U.S.A.
