Let It Out:
You're afraid of what
The world will think
If you just scream out
In frustration.
You don't want the sympathetic
Stares if you start to cry
Out of nowhere.
You don't want to chance
The odd looks you'll get
If you burst out laughing
Even though nothing funny happened.
You don't want to be laughed at
For staring at nothing in awe.
You're afraid to feel joy
While nobody else can.
You don't want to feel the pain
That will cause someone else to gain.
So you just close off your heart,
And bottle up your emotions.
Put on your mask,
Ready to go.
You don't want to face this world
Full skepticism, horror, and hate.
But in the end you have to do what's best
So you choose to just
Let it out.
