Like those birds' wings she seeks freedom,
with young child's tears, her eyes she dries
and runs up the hill to summer's sunset while
she walks a walk, a lifetime's longing for
a long-unwanted love, some long-forgotten words
and a person she knows by name and heart
but not the person he used to be.
She erases them from her youthful time,
to write a better love story,
for someone who deserves her all as her eyes
dazzle with sunset's glow.
