There were too many of them. That was a fact. They would overtake us in a matter of minutes. That was also a fact. There was no way that we could win this battle. We could retreat, live to fight another day, or we could die, in both this world and the real one, even though it's gotten harder and harder to distinguish the two . . .

[How could it have come to this?] I thought. [Over half of the child population was turned against us, forced to try and kill the rest of us.] Then I remembered the UCP and how it was the mastermind behind this chaos. How it had brainwashed the other children to make them think that we were monsters . . .

The first wave of their forces was coming over the hill. If we wanted to retreat we would have to do it now. I whistled the three note pattern that signaled retreat. Most of us turned to run, but a few faced toward the army to guard our escape from the field. However, the big problem wasn't coming from the human army . . .

Shadowfi, half-wolf, half-human monsters were blocking our escape. We were trapped between a brainwashed army and a horribly brutal death at the hands of the ruthless Shadowfi.

"Here we go boys! Time for dinner!" One of them, most likely the leader, cried. The whole group of them burst into laughter before pouncing on our small force . . .

But before I get into all the action, I guess I need to explain a bit of what happened before this . . . You see . . .
