Keep your enemies close

Keep me even closer

It's almost time

For the dawn

To war.

Remember your family

Keep them close too.

As you fire off

Think of us

Too.

Making quick lines

From place

To place

I'll

Be.

Here.

I'll wait for your return,

Wait for your arms

To cradle me

And your son.

With you.

If you don't come home

I can understand

What you did

For this land

I'm...

I'm proud to be

Staying at home

Fighting my own war

Here at home.

Here.

Families and problems

Looking down on me

Seeing that I'm alone

Don't you need

Something?

I'm a soldier at home

Fighting the war

Of a young single mother

with a young child

and a soldier away.

I'll sing the ballad

Of a brave young mother

Waiting for her soldier

From over

Yonder.

I'll be so glad

when you come home

the happiness and the comfort

in your arms

I'll stay.
