Can you see me?
There's so much I don't know about you
So much great things I wish I could see
My dad tells me stories
Of the great man you were
You were humble but proud at the same time
You were so full of love, similar to my dad
You came from a truly harsh time
But you came through it OK
I wish I could have known what you were like
Before you slowly lost your mind
I'm sorry I never came to see you in the home
But I couldn't see you like that
I couldn't bare you not remembering me
I don't even care what the good Lord above thinks of you
All He sees is a little carpenter
But then, I see a man who I am proud to call
Grandad
I see a man who I love and miss dearly
I only hope I too can become someone you can be proud of.
