The Death

There once was a really bad war between two countries at one time. All a family could do to stay safe was stay in the house. All the schools were closed because the children would not be safe going to school. The soldiers of the enemy stood at the corners of the roads and would send everyone who passed by, home. So all the children stayed home so as not to be sent home.

There was a mother who was pregnant with a baby boy. Five months later she gave birth to a beautiful little baby boy at 5:45 am, she named him Josh. However, she had something in mind; she already had four children, she certainly didn't want another to take care of.. So she decided that without telling the doctors about it, once she got out of the hospital she would take the baby to the orphanage.

Fifteen years later the mother died but the day before she died she got a letter from the orphanage. She panicked, 'Maybe the building burnt down and I have to get Josh!' When she finally opened the letter it was from her child 'Josh'. This is what it said,

"Dear Mom and Dad,

You probably are wondering how I got 'our' address, well I went to the lady named Haley who keeps all the paper work. The only thing she gave me is 'You write the letter and I promise that I will mail it.' However I convinced her to give me 'our' address. Don't worry I can't come home because I am only fifteen. I have to be sixteen to leave on my own, unless I get adopted.

She smiled, she didn't have to go and get Josh! At this time she felt as if it were time to go to sleep, it was early, the time was 7:30. She had all the children ready for bed in no time, she was glad that she could climb into bed around 7:45. Then she thought, 'Maybe I should have kept him, it sounds like he is not having a good time, oh come on there are horses over there.'

"But he might want a mother." She heard a voice say, she looked around. Her husband was home, she missed him because he is a part of the army so he isn't home a lot. She jumped out of bed and hugged him.

"I read the letter when I came home so I thought I might know what you were thinking." Her husband says.

"Oh dear."

"Tomorrow is Josh's Birthday, why don't we all go over and throw a party for the children there? It has been gloomy there lately." Her husband, Tom, said before she could say anything.

"Sure." She coincided. So they made plans for the party, she called the orphanage and they said that it was fine with them.

But Josh's mother died while she was sleeping, so Tom decided to cancel the party plans. When Josh heard what happened to his mother he decided that he would neither eat nor sleep.

"He wants to run away." Whispered Sam the snake, when he was Lesa the care provider the next day. That day Lesa called Josh to her office.

"Do you want to run away?" She asked.

Josh looked at her very surprised. "Why do you ask?"

"One of the boys told me you were."

"Where would I run to? Did he tell you where I am going to run to?"

"Yes."

"Then tell me."

"Okay, you are going to go to your fathers house."

"Are you crazy? Of course not, so please, shh!"

"NO! You need to stay here."

"Well I am not going. He lied to you."

"Okay, I will believe you this time, so go eat lunch."

"No, listen. I do not want to run away. Because if I run away I will have to stay until I'm eighteen, so I do not want to run away."
