Down the hall, slowly walk

I hear them talk and talk and talk

Subject matter: me

Kid is walking down the hall

And he falls and the fall

Some foot in the way

Slowly now a body swings

And wet now, cheap clothing clings

Cut up in a bath

Sadly now a school does mourn

Empty now, desks forlorn

Pro bono, two in one

But hate goes on

Oh! Hate lives on

Burning there to see

The words that sallied forth, you'll find

Returned the anger, not in kind

"Oh, if you say a word tonight

Let it be a kind one

And if you need a friend tonight

Look and you might find one"

"It took two children's blood and life

To open us, to see the dark

To see that our school is rife

With bullying disease"

End of story, now I write

But keep on, keep on the fight!

Lest evil win again tonight

A/N- Special thanks to the family of Rachel Scott for spreading her message of acceptance. This is fictional poetry however! It represents an event that is all too common in public schools. If you're from a foreign country or otherwise haven't heard of Rachel Scott, she was the first victim of the columbine shooting. Rachel Scott's family discovered, after her death, that she had been trying to reach out to bullied and harassed students and had made promise to herself. One of these included an outline of her hands and the words "one day these hands will touch millions of hearts across the world. The two students who carried out the shootings had been severely bullied.

"Depression is the best mood to write in, unless of course, you're writing mystery novels. Then its paranoia.-Me
