I roam the land

Playing with friends

Fighting for my turf

My owners daughter is gone

Only for 6 months

Many people move in

And then they leave

My owner doesn't mind

Just as long as they don't take our things

One family moved in though

A mother and daughter

The son lives with the father

He rarely comes over

He's strange

But I don't mind him

He pets me

When he comes over

The daughter loves me though

She pets me

Picks me up

Feeds me her food

Plays with me

Grooms me

Kiss me

She's okay

But when I want to play

By hitting her with my paw

She hits me on the head

She yells "Bad Mocha! You don't do that!"

Then she pets and kisses my head

Telling me she has forgave me

I don't claw her

I just hit her hand with my white paw

Her mother though

Doesn't really like me

She calls me a fleabag

And tells the daughter to stop loving me

She says I'm not hers

And that she has her own pets

She just agrees

But still plays with me

She gives me her soft blanket

And takes me into their room

Where I sleep by the girl

Until she falls asleep

Then I leave after a while

And in the morning I return

Only to have the daughter greet me once more

She says I'm a good kitty

She says I'm an old kitty

I agree

I'm eight years old

And still going strong

Climbing the fence

Is getting hard though

But that won't stop me

I hunt

I once brought a rat inside

And put it in my food bowl

The daughters mother

Was grossed out

The daughter

Said good job

But was sad for the rodent

My owner

Said I was good for something after all

I know he's playing

When he says I'm worthless

I know he loves me

He'll pick me up

And scratch my cheek

Then put me down gently

I like my home

But that rat

The daughters pet

She said if I ever tried to hurt it

That she wouldn't hesitate to hurt me

I see that little black and white creature

Taunting me

Mocking me

It wants me to make a nice meal out of it

I know it knows I'm bigger than it

I know its scared of me

But the daughter and mother

Refuses to let me by it

Just like a mouse I tried to kill

I had it in my mouth

Ready to bring it inside

I had broke its back leg

I waited at the door

When the daughter came to open it

I was by the black table out back

I dropped the mouse on the ground

She came running towards me

I looked up at her

Thinking she was going to say good job

But I was wrong

She yelled at me

Kept me away from my prize

She kept her hand in front of it

Keeping me from getting to it

"BAD CAT!" she yelled

She picked me up

And took me away from the mouse

When she put me down

I ran back to it

She chased after me

Beating me to it

After a while

She took me inside

Locking me in

I asked her to let me out

She yelled at me to be quiet

I followed her to her room

Where she cried to her mother

Begging her to let her keep the mouse

The mother just said he was dirty

They would get sick

She called her mother heartless

Saying she felt as though

She was the only one who had a heart

I ran back into the living room

Not wanting to trip her

I just asked her to let me out again

She yelled "Shut up!"

And sat in my owners chair

I watched her

Feeling a little bad for making her cry

I looked out the window

The mouse was gone

I asked once more to be let out

She got up angrily

Opened the door

And yelled "Get out!"

I did as I was told

And ran out the door

She slammed it shut

And locked it as usual

I just left the back yard

And went my own way

I love my family

And I had forgiven the daughter

But now

My owner wants to move

The daughter asks what I think

I just say I don't care

But they don't know that

All they hear is "Meow."

I wish I could speak

I know they would like my opinion

I know the daughter would listen

My owner

I'm not so sure

But the daughter

Is always good to me

I brought her a gift once

A bracelet I found

I brought it to her

She said thanks

And kissed and petted me

I wish I knew what color it was

I seen it was gray

She said it was purple

But I have no idea what that is

I just got to play with it

I was also brought cat nip once

The daughter gave it to me

I loved it

Once I was done

She cleaned it

And dusted the rest of the cap nip off of me

She just smiled at me though

My name is Mocha

And that's what my everyday life is

Full of surprises

Full of adventure

Full of happiness

Full of play

Full of love

Full of name calling

And full of white black and gray.
