Shinigami Twin Ch.22 "Losing a brother Part 2"

Jushiro stands up

Jushiro: It's nice to finally meet you in person, Tyrin Saki.

Tyrin: Jushiro Ira… so we finally meet.

Cular: You know him?

Tyrin: No, but I know he's the enemy.

Cular: I remember… Eda told us that the Iras are planning something big. What are you doing here?

Jushiro: That's not really any of your concern. I'm just here talking to the famous "Gu the Menace".

Gu: Hey, was that supposed to be sarcasm?

Tyrin: I already met Jake and Johanna, so you're the last sibling?

Jushiro: Don't forget about my dear little sister, Robin.

Cular: Cool your jets, surfer dude. Robin isn't a part of your master plan or whatever it is.

Jushiro: "Surfer dude"? What an odd name to call me. Hopefully, it's not because of my long hair. Anyway, I'll leave these two to you, Gu. Don't disappoint me.

Tyrin: Hold it! I'm not letting you walk away! I won't let another chance slip by to take you guys down! I know you're up to something!

Jushiro: Why do I deserve such an accusation? I haven't done anything wrong nor have I attacked your family like my siblings.

Tyrin: Sounds like you don't care what they do.

Jushiro: You sure have a lot nerve. Unlike you Sakis, I care deeply for my family. What I don't understand is why you place so much trust into the North Soul Tower?

Tyrin: What's that supposed to mean?

Jushiro: Have you ever wondered why they gave you a chance to prove yourself, a child with no known accomplishments or anything? Don't tell me you never questioned this?

Tyrin: So what if I did? I…

Jushiro: You can only fail three missions or you won't become a full-fledged Commander, that's the condition. Why three? Why not just one? This only proves my case.

Tyrin: And that would be?

Jushiro: Isn't it obvious? They don't believe in you. If they did, why put such an easy task? Have you ever wondered what could've happened if you failed a mission? Let me put it in terms you'll understand. Even if you survive the month, they still wouldn't hire you.

Tyrin: That's a lie! You don't anything about them!

Jushiro: It's the truth. They're using you to do jobs they don't want to do. You're nothing but an errand boy to them. As soon as the month is over, they'll throw you out like it was nothing! Go ahead, fail as many missions as you like, they won't give a damn because they already decided on what they would do to you! They want to work you to the bone like a dog and you fail to realize this! If they were serious about hiring you they would've done it already instead of waiting so long. Oh, but that's not all! Watch and see if they "extend" you're task, you'll snatch up that chance before you know it!

Tyrin: I heard enough out of you! I trust in them and that's enough for me! Everyone there, everyone I ever met, they would never deceive me! And if you have a problem with that, then face me right now or shut the hell up!

Jushiro glares at Tyrin

Jushiro: You poor, pathetic fool. I'll leave today, but this is not the last we shall meet. I'll show you the true power of the Ira family!

Jushiro flies away on his jetpack

Cular: Did he just fly away on a jetpack?

Gu: Now that that's all over… it's time to finish our fight, brother!

Cular: Gu, you know can't beat me when I have my spirit released. Why don't you just quit while you can?

Gu: You underestimate me, brother. You think I don't know how to handle myself in these types of situations?

Gu takes a sip of his red wine and snaps his fingers. Gang members open a case of weapons in response.

Cular: Gu… those better not be what I think they are…

Gu: Damn straight! These are spirit weapons!

Tyrin: What? How… how did he get a hold of spirit weapons? I thought Shinigami can only get them?

Cular: It's against the law to obtain and hold spirit weapons unless you have a license and a permit. And I doubt you have either of those.

Gu: Does it matter? I'm the mayor of Ein city! I can do whatever I please!

Tyrin: How did an asshole like him become mayor?

Cular: That's a good question. Care to answer, Gu?

Gu: Why certainly. The real mayor of this city is alive and well, however once we showed up we kidnapped his wife and forced him to hand over his title to me. Now I get to play mayor and crime boss at the same time! Whatever happens in this town doesn't go over me! Whenever someone misses a due date, my boys know exactly where to find them!

Tyrin: So he can do whatever he wants and get away with it? This is horrible… the citizens must live in fear every single day. They must be saved from this tyrant!

Gu: It's menace!

Cular: Glad to see your title fits!

Tyrin: Gu the Mayor or Gu the Menace, your days of villainy are over!

Gu tosses away his drink and grabs a spirit club

Gu: Enough talk! Have at you!

Gu forcibly releases his spirit through the club. The club transforms into a spike club in response. Gu begins to breathe hazily.

Cular: You fool! Only a Shinigami can bring out their spirits via a spirit weapon! If you forcibly do so, then not only your spirit, but your mind might be destroyed!

Gu: Shut up! I won't let such something so simple-minded stop me!

Gu disappears in a blur and strikes at Cular. Cular blocks Gu's strike, but is blown away across the room.

Tyrin: Cular!

Gu strikes at Tyrin. Tyrin evades Gu's strike and steps back. Gu charges at Tyrin and continues to strike at him. Tyrin evades Gu's strikes.

Tyrin: (I can't block his attacks! He's too powerful! If he can blow away Cular so easily, then I better not take my chances!)

A gang member grabs Tyrin from behind

Gang member: Don't worry, boss! I got him!

Gu blows the gang member's head off with his club, killing him in the process. The gang member's lifeless body collapses. Everyone is deeply shocked.

Gu: Who the hell told you to interfere with my business? Y'all better learn when to act when I tell you to!

Tyrin frightfully looks at blood left by the gang member on the back of his clothes and looks at his lifeless body

Gu: What's wrong, boy? Never seen blood before? This is why they shouldn't children play with the big boys.

Tyrin: You… you killed him… your own man…

Gu: And? It's not like I care what happened to him. Trash is trash either way. Whoever gets in my way will be killed on the spot!

Gu raises his club

Gu: And that includes pest like you!

Gu strikes down at Tyrin. Cular blocks Gu's strike. The ground below cracks by the intense pressure.

Cular: I never forgot how merciless you can be sometimes. I was hoping you would've change when I saw you again… sadly that's not the case.

Gu: Why change into a weakling like you when I can rule with an iron fist?

Cular: Saki, leave him to me. This is personal.

Cular pushes Gu back. Gu stands his ground and glares at Cular.

Tyrin: A…Alright.

Cular charges forward and strikes at Gu. The two brothers clash.

Tyrin: (They're brothers, but they're fighting like their sworn enemies. I know that there are many different types of people, but this isn't how brothers should act. Me and Ryu argue and fight sometimes too, but not on this level. Is it even right to call them brothers they way they clash weapons with each other? I can't even comprehend the thought.)

Cular and Gu step back and glare at each other. Gu tosses his club at Cular. Cular evades the club and crashes his club to the ground, sending off a trail of energy at Gu. Gu evades the attack and commands his club back to his hand.

Cular dashes under Gu and strikes upward. Gu steps back, evading his club and strikes back. Cular blocks Gu's strike and is push backwards. Cular stands his ground and repeatedly strikes at the ground, sending more trails of energy at Gu. Gu smashes his club to the ground, launching himself into the sky to avoid the trails of energy.

Gu tosses his club at Cular. Cular strikes at the club. The club pushes Cular backwards, but Cular keeps his balance and parries it. Gu commands his club back to his hand.

Gu: What's wrong with you? Are you even taking me seriously?

Cular: Course I am, your just too powerful.

Gu: You know… I'm really getting tired of everyone using sarcasm on me.

Cular: Who said I was being sarcastic? I'm telling you the truth… you really have grown in strength since the last time we fought. If only you use that strength for the right reasons.

Gu: I fight for one thing and one thing only, myself.

Cular: What do you want out of life, Gu?

Gu: What else but its sweet riches, women, and power? With my new unlocked power I can have it all to myself! If I can fight evenly against you now, just think how far I can go! Soon, I'll powerful enough to overthrow the entire Soul Tower by myself!

Cular: It's clear to me now that you have lost sight in what is important in life.

Gu: And that would be?

Cular: Living.

Gu: Hah! Don't make me laugh, those Shinigami must have really messed you up! After this, I'll make you see the truth!

Gu builds up energy into his club. Veins appear on Gu's head, showing how much strain his mind is taking.

Cular: So this is how you want to end things? Fine, after this, you'll have enough time to think over things in prison!

Gu: You just don't learn, do you, brother?

Gu charges at Cular

Cular: "Royal…"

Gu strikes at Cular. Cular evades Gu's strike and strikes back. The tip of Cular's club reaches Gu's side.

Cular: "Crown!"

A large amount of energy releases from the tip of Cular's club engulfing Gu in the field of energy once it makes contact with his body. Tyrin covers his eyes from the light it gives.

Tyrin: What the hell?

The light begins to fade. Tyrin notices the ground shaping into the form a crown from Cular's attack. Gu lies unconscious inside the crown shaped crater.

Tyrin: Whoa… that was amazing…

Cular picks an unconscious Gu up from the ground

Cular: Sorry, you forced my hand, Gu.

A few hours later back at Ein city, Shinigami officers take an unconscious Gu away. Some officers arrest gang members as well.

Reida: Good work, fellas. Gu and his lackeys have been arrested as we speak and the Crown Club Gang has now been disbanded.

Tyrin: All in a day too. That's a lot of work.

Reida: Cular, I've told you not to interfere with the mission.

Cular: I know, I…

Reida: No excuses. For disobeying orders, I'm afraid I'm going to have to…

Tyrin: Wait! Cular came on my request!

Cular and Reida: Huh?

Tyrin: That's right! I was sure I needed help handling this mission so I called him here! I didn't know he was related to the target at all! I swear!

Reida: You sure?

Tyrin: Yes, ma'am. I've only learned about this recently! I'm sorry if I caused any unnecessary assumptions! I should've reported this to you immediately!

Cular: Saki, what are you doing? *whispers*

Tyrin: What? I'm not lying. I really didn't know he was your brother or about Reida excluding you from the mission.

Reida: I guess I can let this slide, but don't let it happen again.

Tyrin: Understood.

Cular: By the way, we have some information Eda should know.

Reida: What is it?

Cular: Gu had obtained spirit weapons.

Reida: What? How is that even possible?

Cular: I'm not sure, but when I fought him he was definitely using a spirit weapon.

Reida: Someone using a spirit weapon when they're not a Shinigami? That could destroy the person's mind and they're spirit.

Cular: Luckily, I was able to stop him in time. Also, I suspect he didn't obtain them from just any other source. I think the Iras have possession of spirit weapons and are selling them.

Reida: That's a major felony. I'll contact Eda as soon as possible. You two wait for further instructions.

Tyrin: But, what the other missions?

Reida: This is much more important, I'll dismiss all current missions today and tomorrow for other time. Right now, I need to report this information to Eda. You're both dismissed.

Reida leaves

Cular: This is serious, if the Iras have spirit weapons, then we might as suspect that they have sold them to more than just gangs. They could have sold them to other powerful organizations as well. If this is true, then they will face major charges.

Tyrin: That means we can finally put an end to their plan! Whatever it may be!

Cular: Exactly. Tomorrow… will be a very important day.
