I always looked forward to a reply from you;
You could make me laugh, even when I was feeling blue.
When I was texting you I could be myself,
Something hard to do with anyone else.
Over time my feelings grew,
But I kept it hidden so you never knew.
You've seen me only once at your cousin's party,
But I was too shy to say anything smartly.
We lose contact quite soon, as life gets in the way,
But I find your number again on a cold December day.
Our conversations are long as we have so much in common,
But I'm scared into silence after a fight with your cousin.
You will never know how much I have taken to you,
For a month now I have wondered what to do.
So I'll write this poem that you will never see,
And try to forget you like you have forgotten me.
These are only a few of the things I wish I could say,
To you in person on this Valentine's Day.
