A Lonely Lullaby
Author:
The Singing Nightingale PM
This has nothing to do with the song by Owl City. It's just a lullaby/poem I wrote about loneliness. A topic not many people I know talk about. I'm lonely and have no life outside of school, poetry, and music. So I wrote about it.

Loneliness is such a curse

Placed upon my being

Believe me there is nothing worse

Than the nostalgia I am feeling

There's a song that I've composed

To ease my aching sorrow

I sing it when I'm all alone

So I can face tomorrow

"Hushaby lonely one

Listen to my words

My song has only just begun

To take away the hurt

The ever present company

Of things you long to have

Such as friends and family

That haunt your troubled past

The love you long to possess

Is more than far too gone

No longer will this tune digress

It's the end of my tragic song."

Here I wrote this lullaby

To make it seem okay

To take away the pain inside

At least for a day.
