NightTime

In the distance, with a gleam,

The evening sun goes down.

Just like an image from a dream, A horizon with a golden crown.

The lights then drift away,

THe warm, sunny day has passed,

Moon and darkness are here to stay,

It's nighttime, at last!

Evening stars come out to shine,

They glimmer and they glisten,

Nature of Night's divine,

Come out to sing, I listen.

THe crickets chirp a happy tune,

While the wind whistles.

Owls hum a wise old croon,

With the happy dancing of the thistles.

I listen for a moment, as silent as the dead,

I sat silently in awe, in awe of all of this.

Alas, I know it's time for rest, it's time for bed,

The moon plants a goodnight kiss,

On my forehead.

To say "goodnight", fills me with sorrow,

For I'll have to wait a whole day,

TO see them all tomorrow.
