A girl of clockwork clothed in metal,
And adorned by brass jewels and trinkets,
Lay alone in the dark on a workshop bench,
Her mechanical eyes watching intently,
As the bronze birds glinting in the candle light,
Fly above her head held by cords and strings,
With nothing but a mesh of turning cogs,
Where a beating heart should be,
And a metal face that shows no emotion,
Nor the rushing feelings inside her,
Or the love of life and its beauty that she holds,
She wants to breath the fresh air,
And feel the warmth on soft skin,
Yet her soul's trapped in a mechanical cage,
She wants to dream while the stars sparkle above,
And watch while the sun sets over the ocean,
Because she is a girl of clockwork clothed in metal,
Adored by brass jewels and trinkets,
Laying alone in the dark on a workshop bench,
Her mechanical eyes watching intently,
Waiting for the day she's set free.
