A/N: Oh my gosh I'm SO sory for not updating sooner! Ack! I should have updated sooner! I was just mixed up in summer and a bunch of stuff so I never got a chance to update. Again, my apologies!
"Zane?"
"Pack your things. Quickly. We have to get out," he barks, heaving up a backpack with his belongings over his shoulders.
As soon as I swing my legs over the side of the table, pain shoots through my entire body. My legs are bruised and scratched all over, and every slight movement sends a burning sensation up my leg. My head is throbbing and my vision fails me at times, but I still manage to get the few clothes Zane was able to get for me for my stay. I refrain from talking, but there are still a million questions swarming around in my mind. What exactly happened last night? How did I get back to the cabin?
As I take my pack and step out of the doorway, I notice a shadow move through the forests in my peripheral vision. It doesn't look like a person, but not quite like any animal I've ever seen.
"Bea, hurry up! Don't slack off!" I jumped at Zane's voice, and I quickly ran to catch up.
Which brings me to another significant change. Zane. In the few weeks I'd been living with him, I'd gotten through his tough act nature and he seemed to soften up. I have to admit, I was a little more than disappointed when I'd seen him today. He was back to where he was before I met him, except even worse. It's as if he had completely transformed into a different person. "You'd better stay with me, otherwise you're a goner, " he says as we enter an area of thicker vegetation, his normally smiling face snarled into a smirk.
I let out a loud sigh."Where are we going, anyway, Zane?"
"Away." He kept a straight face and walks ahead. I, however, stop for a second. I recognize this place... Then it hits me. It's the place that I've been to a million times over. It's the place that only I would know well. It's the one place where I've returned from every morning of my life.
It was the place in my dreams. And it was where I was last night.
But why? Why would I have been able to...predict the future? There had to be a reason behind it...right? Why here? Why that moment? None of it made sense!
What did it all mean?
Sorry for the short chapter! I'll make them longer soon, when more eventful things happen. Please R&R!
