I walk past

And I see you

But you don't turn

You don't smile

So I don't turn

I don't smile

I just remember

sitting in the grass

with you

an eternity ago

we turned and

we talked to each other

about infinity

and grace

boys and birthdays and blue

about mirrors

and our reflections

and am-I-taller-than-you

I just remember

in the warm summer nights

with you

an eternity ago

we turned and

we smiled

we told secrets to each other

about infinity

and grace

claims and kisses and cake

about joys

and our sorrows

and my-boyfriend-is-so-great

but now

I walk past

and I see you

I see our memories

I see our secrets

I see the happiness we shared

but you don't turn

you don't smile

so I don't turn

I don't smile

but my heart breaks

my soul aches

and my voice screams itself raw

inside my head

silently

on through infinity

for an eternity

past
