Forgotten

You're forgetting about me,

I know.

You're moving on and I'm slipping away from you.

I knew this would happen,

Sooner or later I'd fade,

And it was something I was fine with.

But you stay in my mind.

You linger in the back all the time.

I think of you when I wake up,

When I fall asleep,

Throughout the day.

I'm becoming obsessive, if I wasn't already.

The thought of you is starting to annoy me,

Just as I bothered you before.

Do you even recognize me?

Will you remember me in a month?

In a week?

In a day?

You're the virus that I can't get rid of,

Stressing me out.

And now you don't have to worry about me.

Soon I,

And you,

Will be forgotten.
