Drowning Boy

He waits for them to swim far enough away

so that they can not go back

he reaches for them

and drags them under

they struggle

trying to get air

just as he had

once upon a time,

he had been a little boy

who was playing with his friends

they jokingly tried to push

him off the dock

out into the deep

lake

he

tripped

and he fell into

the deep water

below he screamed

he begged for

his friends

to help

him

but

they ran away

leaving him to die

no one ever found

his body and he

grew so very

lonely

he

wanted friends

so he dragged them under

wishing they would help

him leave, that his poor

mother would know

what happened

to him

but

all his

new friends

stopped moving

and left him

all alone

again

but

you won't

leave him all

alone again will

you?

You'll

stay forever

with him, right?

At the bottom of

the lake you

won't have

to be lonely

after all,

you

died

there

too.

When your car

went over the edge

you drowned all alone. The police found your car

but they never you for your body rests by that

of a little boy who has been waiting for some one

to play with Now neither of you will be

lonely ever again and you can play

forever. Playing games with

a boy no one remembers

you'll soon forget your

name just as he

has over the

lonely

years
