The world is at my fingertips but I am still alone
All of this technology but I'm still made of stone
And maybe if we took a second to find out who we are
We'd find out we don't that fancy internet or car
Is this world really what he wanted or are all of us to blame
'Cause I have a hard time thinking that Jesus was this vain
All the shallowness and callousness the social net has brought
I know I prefer what reality has taught
It's 2 A.M on the interstate I'm on a bus back home
Everyone around me, what I thought I knew was wrong
'Cause what you see on Facebook doesn't carry through skin deep
And just 'cause someone tells you so doesn't make it what you beleive
Is this world really what he wanted or are all of us to blame
'Cause I have a hard time thinking that Jesus was this vain
All the shallowness and callousness the social net has brought
I know I prefer what reality has taught
We talk behind each others backs we never stop to care
We think think that's how it's supposed to be because they tell us life's not fair
But if we took a moment if we stopped to think things through
I'm sure that we would realize there's no point to the ridicule
Is this world really what he wanted or are all of us to blame
'Cause I have a hard time thinking that Jesus was this vain
All the shallowness and callousness the social net has brought
I know I prefer what reality has taught
