Two tickets were slammed down on top of Cassie's desk, making her squeak, causing a few of her classmates to turn and stare at her. Blushing, Cassie gave an embarrassed smile and looked to where the tickets came from.

"What the heck Rebecca!" Cassie hissed quietly. Rebecca smiled and shrugged her shoulders. Cassie looked down at the two tickets that laid atop her desk. Her hands reached out to grab the pieces of paper when they froze right as she was about to make contact. Cassie's mouth was ajar.

"...Rebecca... what's this?" Cassie picked up the tickets with shaking fingers and held them closer to her eyes for better inspection. Rebecca plucked the tickets from Cassie's hands and started to wave them around while jumping up and down.

"These two pieces of paper I hold in my bare hands are our passes to the most anticipated tour of the year!" Cassie put her head down on her desk to hide her red face from the attention Rebecca was attracting. "These two papers here are tickets to die for. These two tic-"

"-Rebecca! Cut the antics!" Cassie rose her head so Rebecca could hear her voice.

Rebecca cleared her throat and gave Cassie a pointed look before continuing.

"I got us two front row tickets to go see The Shadow Kiss! I won a radio contest! They asked what The Shadow Kiss's lead singer's middle name was. Like wow, really? That was the easiest question in the book!"

"Rebecca, that's a hard question if you're not a hardcore fan like you are. I wouldn't have been able to answer that. You're such a stalker." With the last sentence Cassie gave Rebecca a push while smirking. Rebecca stuck out her tongue and clutched her arm as if she was in pain. Cassie rolled her eyes at the drama queen and moved her attention to the teacher that just walked in. She tried to pay attention to the historical information Mr. Loya was droning on and on about but her mind kept on going back to The Shadow Kiss's tickets. Cassie might not have been a crazy teenage girl fan for them but they were pretty famous and she always thought the guitar player was the cutest. What was his name? Ash... Rhodes. Yes, Ash Rhodes. He had brown curly hair that went just above his eyes and curled around his neck. He was about 6 foot and lean, the boy that everyone wanted to date and every guy wanted to be. All the girls gushed about how hazel his eyes were and how rosy his cheeks got when he got embarrassed. Ash was always on the cover of gossip magazines, either modeling or getting his picture taken while "walking hand in hand with America's Sweet Heart", when you can clearly see they were just walking side by side. He was the guitarist as well as one of the singers for the group.

Diiing, Diiing, Ding. Startled out of her thoughts by the school's bell, Cassie gathered her books and headed towards her next classes. She went through her day in a daze day dreaming of different scenarios of how The Shadow Kiss are going to preform their hit songs. Once the last bell of the day rang, Rebecca and Cassie set off to Cassie's car and drove to Rebecca's house.

"Oof." Rebecca plopped down face first into her bed while Cassie sat at Rebecca's computer chair.

"So, Rebecca. When is this concert?" Cassie asked

"Mmmm, in about, I dunno, three days." Well that's what Rebecca meant to say. It actually sounded like, "Mmmm , n abooo , aaa dannno, treee ays." Cassie was shocked. Three days? That's so soon! She was so excited; this would be her first concert -ever. Rebecca rolled over so Cassie could hear her better.

"And then after they finish their concert, the band is going to be signing autographs. We have to go. There are no if's and's or but's, you got me?" Rebecca looked at Cassie with her eyes narrowed.

Cassie put her hands up in surrender. "I never said no Rebecca. Geez."

Rebecca sat up and straightened her blouse. "Well, good, because I wouldn't have taken no for an answer." Cassie rolled her eyes.

"Well I have to go home before my mom calls the cops and reports me missing."

Rebecca chuckled. "She would." Cassie got in her car and drove towards her home. She pulled into the driveway and stepped out, walking to her door. As she was about to reach for the door it opened.

"Oh sweet pumpkins! There you are darlin'! Where have you been?" Cassie looked at her mom as if she had two heads.

"Mom... why are you talking like you're country?" Her mom coughed and grinned sheepishly.

"Well, I have been watching the CMA award show from last night. They all have strong accents so I guess I picked up a few of their accents." Cassie chuckled and shook her head.

"Oh mom, you never seem to disappoint," Cassie said as she sidestepped her mother to get into the house.

Cassie's mom shut the door behind them before yelling, "What's that supposed to mean?" Cassie just smiled before walking into the kitchen to look in the refrigerator.

"So sweetie, how was your day?"

"It was fine. Rebecca won two tickets to go see The Shadow Kiss play this weekend. She asked me if I could go. Can I?" Cassie knew she already told Rebecca that she would go but she still had to ask her parents. It wouldn't have gone well if Cassie would've said, "I'm going to a concert with Rebecca this weekend, okay?" Their answer would've been a lot like, "So you don't have to ask for permission?" "What, were you raised by wolves?" Yes she has said the latter too many times to count.

"Well, I'll have to confirm with your dad if you can but my vote is a yes as long as you're not here after one in the morning. Then I'll have to set up a search party for you. Do you know how much work that'll be? Ugh, too much." Cassie's mom smirked at her letting her know she was joking. After a few more minutes of talking and watching Cassie's mom cook dinner, they heard the door open and close.

"What smells good?" Cassie's dad's voice flowed in from the front door.

"It's chicken tacos. Hurry before it gets cold," Cassie's mom yelled.

"Okay,okay, women. Goodness gracious."

"Goodness gracious...you!"

Cassie's dad entered the kitchen and took a seat at the dinner table.

"Oh ya, good one honey," Cassie's dad said with a roll of his eyes. Cassie took a seat to the right of him.

"So dad... Rebecca won two tickets to go see a The Shadow Kiss preform live this weekend. Can I go? Mom already said yes so if you say no I will be a very unhappy teenager that will go into depression at the age 17." Cassie was laying it on pretty thick but she didn't care, she actually wanted to go to this concert.

"Oh that's going to make me say yes."

"Please, please, please?" Cassie's dad looked out the window across from them as if he was in deep thought. He started to scratch the light stubble on his chin trying to prolong Cassie's anticipation.

"You and Rebecca will be going alone?" Cassie's dad asked skeptically.

"Well ya."

"Well then I don't know, you guys can get stolen."

"But dad! I'm seventeen now! I'm in the last two months of my junior year." Cassie had a late birthday, always making her the oldest.

"I don't think forty year-old men care about how old you are. They will kidnap you."

"Come on dad. You've never done this before. I've gone to bigger places before - alone." Cassie's dad nodded at this.

"Okay, you can go. But. Don't. Talk. To. Strangers." With every word he said, Cassie's dad poked her in the forehead. Cassie hit his hand away.

"Yay! Thanks dad!" Cassie jumped out of her chair and gave her dad a hug.

"A-hem. If I said 'No' you wouldn't have been able to go. But I didn't," Cassie's mom said with a hurt expression. Cassie moved from her dad and towards her mother. Cassie gave her mom a big hug and said her 'thank you's'.

"Okay I'm going upstairs. Goodnight." Cassie kissed both of her parents on the cheek and headed up the stairs. She looked through her drawers and found her dad's ratty t-shirt and a pair of flannels. Once she was dressed in her pajamas, she grabbed her computer before tucking herself in her bed. Cassie pulled up a search engine and typed in The Shadow Kiss in the search bar. Pressing the "Go" button she clicked on the "Images". After a few seconds pictures of the band began to pop up. She clicked one picture making it larger. The picture showed Ash holding a guitar singing with so much passion. His curly hair clung to his forehead with the sweat that was coating his face. The picture had Cassie mesmerized. Cassie couldn't help to think how handsome he was. She scrolled down further and found a picture of just Ash smiling at the camera. His blue eyes crinkled at the corners with his big smile that showed white pearly teeth. Ash Rhodes was the favored band member of The Shadow Kiss considering his face was flooding the page. Just thinking about how close Rebecca and Cassie were going to be to Ash gave Cassie butterflies. She didn't want him to think she was just some fan girl. Cassie rolled her eyes at herself. Why would he care if she was a fan girl or not? She was just some ordinary girl that liked his music. That could be a perfect description for every other fan he's had. Sighing, Cassie closed her laptop and set it on her bedside table. She laid down and closed her eyes seeing Ash's grin behind her closed eyelids. Smiling, Cassie let sleep take over.
