Circle

Roses, daises and brightly coloured pansies shrouded the path, forcing me to sit on a little bench.

I sighed; though this was my father's garden centre and I loved the flowers, but I am thinking sickening thoughts.

My life feels like an infinite sign. Everything ends up well in the end and then another problem starts.

People would call it ecstasy, but I call it boring. It's a strange concept, but I am a natural adventure-seeker, not someone who prays for everything to turn out okay.

If that is so, then what do I want? I do not want to be in a third world country, but I don't want to be rich like anybody's business. I suppose my middle-class home should be satisfactory.

And it is. Very satisfactory. Too satisfactory. Maybe that's how it should stay.

The door opened and in came one of the local photographers.

I smiled grimly. I hate these people, but my father adores them so I put up with them coming in and out.

The photographer took a decent amount of photos with that 'hi-tech camera' of his. Show off.

"You may find something interesting over in the corner," he said gruffly before leaving.

My eyes widened. That's the first time one of the photographers acknowledged me for something other than being called a small fry.

I walked over to the corner he was in and saw nothing special at first.

I was about to turn around, but something wriggling caught my eye.

I knelt down and saw a long, black insect crawling up the stem of a leaf. That was strange; Father never let any insects in his special centre.

I knew I could have easily killed it off and become rewarded by my father, but I didn't. It's like I was waiting for something to happen.

It began to adorn a thick, silken dress. A chrysalis; this must be a caterpillar.

What an exciting step in life? Caterpillars lead more exciting lives than I do.

To prove my point, I promise to come here everyday and see how life's circle ends…

Just a quick story that I typed up in less than an hour.

A friend of mine gave me some words to incorporate:

Garden Centre, Anticipation, Camera

It's a bit strange, but I hope you enjoyed it
