Prologue

If you could have anything in the world, what would it be? Would it be money? Fame? An expensive car? When it comes to two special people they didn't want any of this. All he wanted was to hold her in his arms and get lost in her eyes again. All she wanted was to be held and be with him again. For the longest time they were together, but then one moonless night, they came and took her away from him and her family. This is the story of his quest to find her, but first we'll go back to the day before everything happened.

It's February 14, 2014 and Charlotte Ornela was in her room getting ready for her date with her boyfriend of one year, Kyle Murphy. She stood at 5'1". Even though she wasn't very tall, what she lacked in height, she gained in intelligence and smarts. Tonight she was wearing a pair of dark blue skinny jeans that hung low on her hips and clung to her toned leg, a white strapless shirt that showed off her toned stomach and her belly button ring, with a jean jacket, and black leather riding boots that stopped in the middle of her shin. Her golden brown hair was curled in lose ringlets, and she didn't wear any make up. Kyle thought she was beautiful without it and loved to get lost in her brown eyes just as they were. Charlotte looked at her clock, which was on the headboard of her bed, and saw that it was 6 PM.

Meanwhile, coming up the drive way to Charlotte's house was Kyle. He pulled in the drive and parked his car. Slater stood at 5'7" and was muscular, had very short brown hair with light blue eyes, and was very handsome. Tonight he wore a pair of blue jeans, with a plaid button shirt and his cowboy boots. He grabbed the red and white roses that were sitting in the passenger seat, and locked his car. Kyle then went up to the door and rang the doorbell. He didn't have to wait very long before the door was answered by Charlotte's father, Damon Ornela.

Damon stood at 6'1", had black hair in a military haircut, and brown eyes. He was very protective of both his children. His oldest daughter and Charlotte's sister, Tori, was in college so it was just Charlotte and her father in the house. Damon let him into the house and they went to the living room. Kyle sat down while Damon went to get his youngest daughter. He went to her room and knocked on her door.

"Char, Kyle is here." He told her through the door.

"Ok daddy, I'll be out in a minute." Charlotte answered.

Damon returned to the living room, while Charlotte was getting stuff together. She looked at herself one last time in the mirror, grabbed her wallet, her anniversary gift for Kyle, and left her room. While she was walking to the living room, she heard her daddy and boyfriend talking.

"So how's your training going Kyle?" Her daddy asked.

"It's going well. Top of my class, my teachers tell me my skills are the greatest they seen in a while." He answered answered.

"That's excellent to hear. I knew Char picked the right guy." Damon commented.

Kyle smiled and thanked him.

"Daddy, you know Kyle does well in his training, you always ask me. Even though you are the Chief of the whole agency." Charlotte said while she walked into the living room.

Kyle and Damon turned to where Charlotte's voice had come from. Her daddy smiled at how beautiful she on the other hand just stared at his girlfriend. He knew she was beautiful, but the way she looked now, made him fall even more in love with her. Charlotte noticed Kyle staring at her, and walked over to him and kissed his cheek. He gave Charlotte the roses that he bought her, and before they left for their date, Charlotte asked her daddy to put them in water for her. Damon nodded and then they all said good bye and left the house to Kyle's truck.

Kyle drove an old red GMC Sierra truck. The cab of the truck was a seat bench where Charlotte always sat in the middle while Kyle drove. Kyle opened the drive side door and let Charlotte in, and then got in himself. After Kyle started the engine and backed out of the drive, he put his arm around Charlotte's shoulder and Charlotte put her head on his shoulder. Charlotte noticed that Kyle hadn't really said anything since they left the house.

"Are you ok, honey?" She asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking sweetheart." Kyle answered answered.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Just how amazingly beautiful you look tonight and how much I love you."

Charlotte smiled and blushed at what he said. For the rest of the car ride, they sat in comfortable silence just glad to be with each other. Soon after, they arrived at Applebees for dinner. Kyle cut the engine and got out of the car. He then grabbed Charlotte's hand and helped her out of the truck. Once her feet hit the ground, he gave her a quick kiss before they headed inside.

Dinner was romantic in Charlotte's opinion. The food was very good, and the two were laughing and having fun. After dinner, he took Charlotte to the carnival that was going on in Salina. They went on all the rides, and were playing games. They came to a shooting game and Charlotte saw a giant white teddy bear with a red bow around its neck and wrists. Kyle saw that she wanted it and played the game. Since he was good shooting, he hit three targets in a row with ease.

"What would you like?" The vendor asked.

"I would like the white teddy bear please." Kyle answered.

The vendor nodded and gave Kyle the bear. He then went over to where Charlotte was sitting on a bench not too far from where the shooting game was at. He saw that she had two ice cream cones in her hand. He smiled as she handed him one and kept the other for herself. They continued to walk through the carnival for another hour before deciding to leave.

Unbeknownst to the two, they were being followed. Trailing behind them were two men who wore black.

"Is she the one?" One of them asked.

"Yes, she is. She is the one that we need." The other asked.

The two men continued to follow the couple. They followed them into the park and waited till they came back to the car.

Kyle and Charlotte were walking through the park and stopped when they came to the lake. They sat on the bench and Kyle turned Charlotte toward him and kissed her. Once the kiss was broke, he took out his anniversary gift. Charlotte did the same, and they gave each other their gifts. Without realizing it, they both gave each other the same thing. Kyle gave Charlotte a promise ring with 3 jewels. One jewel was Kyle's birth stone, Garnet. Another was Charlotte's birth stone, Topaz. The final jewel was the February birth stone, amethyst, to remember the month that he asked her out. Charlotte gave Kyle a promise ring as well. His ring was a simple silver band with small diamonds and the words 'I love you with my heart and soul. You hold my heart and make my day shine everyday.' engraved on it. Kyle put the ring that he gave Charlotte on her left ring finger, and then put his on. He then picked her up and spun her around. Once Charlotte's feet were on the ground, he kissed her.

Kyle broke the kiss and whispered in Charlotte's ear, "I love you more than words can describe. I'll be yours and only yours forever. No one is gonna change that."

Charlotte smiled, stood on her tippy toes, and whispered in Kyle's ear, "I love you too with all my heart and soul. I'll be yours and only yours always and forever. No one is gonna change that."

He pulled Charlotte into another kiss and she melted into the kiss. Both of them knew that they were meant for one another. They went back to the car hand in hand, and Kyle opened the door for Charlotte and let her in the car, then slide into driver seat and they were off to Charlotte's house. They arrived back to Charlotte's house, he got out and opened Charlotte's door. He helped her out again grabbed his overnight bag and they went into Charlotte's house.
