Here it is. The sequel to His Starcrossed Lover. It is in Sophia's POV.
Belonging to Him
Started with a Kiss
My father was a big shot with billions. He was the first man to create the first time machine and my brother will be the next one to learn how to make one. My father had started teaching my brother, Hunter, about a year ago. Hunter is sixteen and is completely in love with inventions like my dad. Funny this is Hunter looks like my mother sort of like his twin sister, Claire.
Last year or several years ago, my father and Hunter invented a patch that will make you stay the same age forever, well, not forever. It last about a hundred years and only one person per patch. My father and one of his friends were the guinea pigs or lab rats or whatever you want to call them. My father had stayed forty-nine, when he let my brother, who was twelve at the time, help him with the project. Let's just say my father has been forty-nine for four years now waiting for my mother to become his age, so they can finally be the same age. My parents are fifteen years apart, but anyways, my father is a special man in society.
Now, about me. I am tall and look like my father. Everything about me is my father except for my curly brown hair and the fact that I am a girl. Technically, my father was twenty, when I was conceived, so technically I am supposed to be thirty-three, which his like five years younger than my mother. My mother is beautiful and for some reason people are interested in what is going on in my parents' lives and in mine and my siblings' lives. Creepy, I know.
Right now, my parents, my siblings, Auntie Cal, Uncle Jack, their son, and I are going to travel back in time to 2006. My father needs a break from all these reporters and so do I. Claire was all lovey dovey with Auntie Cal and Uncle Jack's son, Trent, but it isn't like we are really related. Auntie Cal is Mom's best friend from when she was younger. Uncle Jack is a big jokester and just retired from the army at thirty-nine. Dad and Hunter were going on and on about their knew plan to improve the updating on time machine.
We walked into the ski resort with our baggage and people staring. What they have never seen a family with like sixty billion loads of luggage? Okay, so I have two and my father has a lot I lost count at three mostly they were his business crap and some of it was my brother's as well. Hmm… they have some cute guys back in 2006. Forty-five years from my present time, wow. Mom wasn't even born then.
Dad checked into the resort and we settled in. Claire and I shared a room as Hunter and Trent shared a bedroom. Too bad the love bird couldn't share a bedroom together. Claire sat talking about her and Trent's future, blah, blah, blah. She just had to be my sister. Seriously, Mom!
"So there was a guy in the lobby looking at you. Okay, so several, but still this guy caught my eye because he had beautiful green eyes and was also sort of the handsome out there in my opinion," Claire said.
"'Kay."
"Go say 'hi' when we go down for dinner, Soph."
"Um…no."
I am extremely shy, but for some reason according to my mom, I was a wild child and you can tell if you watch my parents' wedding tape. I kicked my uncle in the leg supposedly because he owned me a lollypop or something like that. Now, I am quiet and hardly talk, but according to my mother I became like that, when my siblings were born.
We walked to dinner with people staring at again. I think they are realizing we are the weird family with billions of luggage that came up through the lobby. I searched for the guy Claire was talking about, but I couldn't find him.
I stood at the salad buffet, when Claire came up behind me. "He is here."
"Where?" I asked.
She grinned. "He is coming over here. Remember, he has green eyes."
I nodded as she walked to the other side of the bar. I looked up just as a beautiful pair of emerald green eyes appeared on the other side of the salad bar right across from me. The owner of those eyes was equally beautiful. He was way taller than me and had really, really dark brown hair. It looks almost black, but it isn't. He grinned at me as I sort of checked him out.
"Hi," he said.
"Hello," I replied sort of blushing.
"Liam." He held his hand out underneath the glass over the food.
"What?"
"My name is Liam Anderson," he asked, chuckling. "And yours?"
"Sophia. Sophia Lee."
He grinned. "And you are here with?"
"My parents."
He raised an eyebrow. "Well, I believe your dad is staring at me, then."
I turned around to find my dad along with Uncle Jack staring at Liam. Dad's eyebrow raised and I smiled at him. Dad can be so funny sometimes. I looked back at Liam and shook my head. "Which one?"
"Wait…there is more than one?" he asked before looking behind me again. "Oh, the one with the goatee."
"That is my uncle," I said. "My father is the one sitting to his left."
He nodded. "Okay, so I'll see you around."
I grinned. "Maybe."
"Taking that as a 'yes'," he said, chuckling.
"Don't get your hopes up."
"Okay."
I walked back to my table with Uncle Jack, Auntie Cal, Mom, Claire, and Dad staring at me. So this is the first time I flirted in front of my family. My mother elbowed me and grinned before relaxing in my father's arms again. Claire mouthed to me about how she wanted to know what had happened later tonight. Girl talk! Yay. Not!
I watched as Hunter and my dad discussed different things about their inventions. Before long Mom excused herself from the table and I followed her. Mom smiled at me as I walked down the hall.
"So who was that boy?" she asked.
"Liam Anderson. I just met him," I said. "Claire noticed him earlier and was all you need to talk with him. You know how she is."
Mom wrapped her arm around my shoulders and hugged me. "You wanted siblings, baby."
"And it is too late to give them up."
"Goodnight, baby."
"Goodnight, Mama."
The next day, Claire and I went skiing. She asked questions about Liam and what did he ask me. My sister is the girly one, not me. She giggled, when I told her his name and then, she went off texting Trent. They need to get a room.
"Claire, you aren't supposed to text and ski."
"We aren't at a hill, yet, Soph."
"Put your phone up," I said.
She grinned at me. "Fine whatever."
She insisted on me standing on top of the mountain and watching her. My sister lost her balance several times and fell on her butt, which made both of us laugh. I skied down to where she had fallen for the like thirtieth time and help her us. I stood in front of her making fun of the way she skies, when I slipped and fell myself.
"Ha, ha," Claire said. "Thank you, karma."
My back was still against the white snow, when Claire sat beside me. She kept giggling as she took a picture of me lying on the white bed of snow. She undid my boots from the skies and we sat there talking. My neck was cold thanks to the snow, but the funny part was, when she dumped snow on my chest. It was freezing, but luckily I had on like three pairs of sweaters thanks to my mother.
"I hate you."
"Love you, too."
We both heard the as someone came up behind us, but we didn't move. The person stood over me and I finally looked up to find Liam. He grinned before asking what we were doing in the middle of the hill sitting here.
"Um…we fell a billion times," I said.
"And you are just laying here?"
"Pretty much."
"You are going to have to get up," he said.
"And if I don't?" I asked.
"I'll have to carry you down," he replied.
I shook my head. "Then, I won't get up."
He chuckled. "It is your choice."
He bent down and picked me up. I giggled as he snowboarded down the hill with Claire behind him and he sat down on a bench at the bottom with him. Claire disappeared off to somewhere and I bet I know why. Because this is the first time I have ever been interested in a boy besides my ex-best friend. Let's just say it ended badly with him breaking up with me and me confessing my love to him. Does it count because I was thirteen?
"So what are you doing in this part of the resort?" I asked.
He grinned. "You are cute."
"Is that so?"
He put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me closer to him. "Yeah, you are really, really cute."
"I don't even know you," I said.
He shrugged. "I would like to get to know you."
"I am only here for two weeks." I looked up at him.
"Two weeks are enough," he said, with his face inches from mine.
"Enough for?"
He grinned. "To get you to fall for me like I have you." He laid his forehead against mine.
"What do you mean?"
He said, "You'll find out soon."
"You are peculiar."
He grinned. "You are beautiful."
His lips twitched before falling towards mine. His lips were soft and warm. I felt shocked more like surprised at this sudden invasion of personal space, so I ended up staring at his jaw. Yet, I wasn't going to say anything because it turned into the best kiss I have ever had. Okay, so it is my first kiss, but still he is an amazing kisser. He grinned at me as he pulled away from my lips.
He said, "You look surprised."
"Because that was my first kiss," I replied.
"Are you sure because you are a pretty good kisser?" he asked.
"Yes, I am sure."
He placed his fingers underneath my chin pulling my eyes up to stare at him. I watched as he brought his lips back towards mine and his other hand grabbed my wrist bring it to his neck. And before I knew it we had sat there kissing for over an hour or so. I was really surprised and embarrassed so I left after that with his eyes boring in to my back.
A/N:
The next chapter will go back Catarina to show you what she and Jeremiah thinks about Liam and Sophia's relationship. If you want of course or it might be in Liam's still deciding.
