My Optimism, My Enemy
To most people optimism is a friend
But to me
It is an enemy
Which preys upon me
Blinds me
Tells me lies
Now it is time for pessimism to rise
Pessimism, realism, where's the contrast?
As long as there's optimism
My happiness won't last
The reason for this is simple
If I am optimistic then I am blind
To life which I must accept isn't kind
So what happens, happens
And what doesn't, doesn't
Even if it means that she won't like me
And if she doesn't then I'll have to live with it
Because by God
There's no stopping it
