Worlds Apart Chapter 1: The Knock Out
Two machines locked in hand-to-hand combat grasped the palms of their opponent and pushed against one another with all of their might. The hulking nine foot robots groaned and did their riders in the cock pit pods as they sought to knock their enemy over. The robots were humanoid, hand one glowing green eye, and encased the two riders, who were military officers, in a dense armored shell of uron (metal equivalent to steel). Protected by these uron robots they practiced wrestling and combat maneuvers in the center of a white ring while small contingents of army officers watched.
"Five ganos on the girl," an army officer stated stated as he slapped five copper pieces down on the bench he was sitting on. His eyes focused on the fight but more importantly, a television screen floating above the arena.
On the left side of the screen was a picture of a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. On the right side of the screen was a girl with brown hair and green eyes. Both wore gray uniforms and black combat boots, the symbol of cadets. "I accept your challenge..." a brown haired man stated; he was sitting next to the other officer and swept up the coins in his left hand. Then he went back to watching the fight.
Out in the arena, the girl they had bet on grit her teeth as she held her ground against her opponent. "Spara's soldiers sure are boring," she noted to herself, "I'm holding back and this guy isn't even willing to try and beat me in robot wrestling. I'll give him a reason to." She pushed harder against the guy's robot and moved herself closer into his personal space. Raising her right knee, she moved her robot and slammed it's right knee in between his robot's legs before hearing a muffled groan.
The boy's robot collapsed to the ground and the green light on his robot shut down. The betting army officer rose from his seat as the words "Winner!" flashed across the image of the girl on the television screen. "What?" the man gawked.
"She won' that's my little sister Retina Zeroes you know." the young man next to him stated before pocketing his newly earned cash. He clasped the better's shoulder before walking towards his sister's mecha. She always fought quite roughly in the arena when she was able to.
