I look at you.
I look at you so hard I can taste you.
Taste the salt from the sea that is your eyes
The flecks of cinnamon that are your freckles
The coffee ice cream that is your skin
I look at you and I look at you and I look at you
I squint my eyes and you blur a little around the edges
Like a sepia colored photograph showing its age or a black and white film that has been watched too many times
I melt into your caramel layers
Lose my way, as I dribble down your shoulder, across your collarbone, and between your breasts
Settling there, just below your heart, vibrating against your rib cage a slow and steady rhythm,
partner to my palpitations and arrhythmias.
