An Ode To The Elusive Man
or
Giving In To My Fangirlisms
You are part of a vanishing tribe
A hard sort to come by
I wonder why you elude me
Like a thought that hovers
At the periphery
Of my consciousness
I can see you
In my mind's eye
And you're gorgeous
That smile makes my heart stop
And start up again
Only this time much faster
And those eyes
Deep pools of mercury
Or stormy oceans
Sometimes a rainforest,
With just the slightest hint of
Smooth wood
And I'm speechless-
You indulge me
A lot
It's not your nature
To be aggressive
Yet you rise to my bait
And engage me in passionate debate
But while you draw my words out of me
You leave me mute
When you turn the full power of your eyes
On me- fragile, breakable me-
I lose myself
At my own personal Waterloo
That's when I can't find a single word to say
My acerbic tongue?
What's that?-
And for that matter
What happened to my
Random witticisms?
Ah, I'm faced
With you
You see
You and your bloody perfection-
Do you really expect me to be alright?
And have full control
Over my faculties?
Smooth, flawless perfection
That's what you are
And you render me incapacitated
So what do you expect of me
When I'm faced with
The distraction that is
You?
I can't do anything, really
Nothing,
Except
Cross my fingers
Hope, and pray
That you remain imprisoned
Within the confines
Of my fantasies
Author's Note: This for one, is an independent piece. Inspiration may have struck in the form of Hugh Grant or Benedict Cumberbatch. I am not to be blamed…
