The world today is becoming a scary place, where politicians and the talking heads on TV feed people lies through a straw. And, like children, we believe it all.

((A/N: The world we live in truly scares me sometimes. It's terrifying how easily people soak in the lies of politicians and the talking heads on TV. I fear for our generation; America is going to the dogs.))

What is truth in a world of lies?

When truth only amounts to

Criticism and slander

They weave their clever tales

And with sticky spider webs

Run them through your head

Until a fog gently pulls all

Coherent thought out of reach.

With Cheshire grins and plastic

Faces they laugh their way to

Perfection and endearment

Until all their evils take on

Various shades of grey.

People coo and twitter

Hollow and empty followers

Becoming just what they want

You to become as they slowly

Steal away your liberties

From right beneath your nose

Like a thief in the night they

Come and take until it's too

Late to stop them take until

You're robbed blind but take

In a way that you don't even

Realize just how much has been

Stolen away forever.
