tie up my affection in a Gordian Knot

let it fester and gather mold

smolder rot decay

Until another Alexander came along,

drew his sword and chopped

(releasing the flood of emotion

mopping it up with his kindness

then wringing it out into the moat)

.

then filled my heart

with a fresh infatuation.

If it was that easy to forget you, I'd

(hold on to thoughts of you forever)

erase your memory from my mind.
