There are those who prize quality,
and those who treasure quantity,
but things which do, to me, really matter
have both the former and the latter.
Some people love life's rarities,
once acquired, they hold them dear.
But I for one love life's charities,
of a shortage you need never fear.
If only one star ever shone in the sky
I just wouldn't feel the delight
that comes over me, watching a billion small suns
bathing our world in their light.
If we had but one song, one painting, one book,
one culture, one sculpture, one tree,
then oh, how strange our world would look.
Be grateful for the beauty of diversity!
