This is a fun little poem about a game of slug bug/punch buggy/whatever you call it.

In the corner of my eye,
I glimpse a bright dot of color.
Could it be?
My entire head is turned now
And I see it full-on.
It is!
In a move of instinct,
My arm extends beside me.
There is hardly a sound
As my clenched fist
Connects with my mother's arm.
I beam with triumph
As I utter the words
"Blue one."
