AN. I got this idea after reading Chocoholixx "The Five Times He Saves Her and The One Time He Doesn't.
What If?
An old man watches from afar
At the family he once had
But abandoned for selfishness
The wife that he chose the bottle over
The son that he lost from his idiocy
The granddaughter that will never know of him
He watches from afar and wonders
What if he hadn't taken that first drink
And had gone home instead
…
A young woman stands alone
Looking at a slab of marble
Bearing the name of a good friend from childhood
The child never said but the woman had known
Of the bruises and sad eyes that were hidden
The woman in ignorance had remained silent
She stands alone and wonders
What if she had told the secret
And had asked for help
…
I silently remember
Watching you leave
Without a backwards glance at me
You were tired of me being closed off
You said you loved me but didn't believe I felt the same
You deserved better so you in search of it
I silently remember and wonder
What if I had chased after you
And said I love you
