Chapter 24

"Brandon, why did I never know about that?" selene said angrily.

"You were three at the time! I was twenty!" I half shouted.

"You still could have told me when I was old enough to understand!" she screamed. "And you! You little bitch! You caused all this!"

Ami, now knowing her heritage, shrank back from selene's waiting fist.

"Do. Not. Touch. Her." I said with a sudden dead calm.

"Why not?" selene kept screaming. "she is the reason out mother is missing and maybe dead!"

"She is right Brandon, I'm the reason for all of this." Ami's voice quietly drifted though my mind.

"lets vote on what we shall do about all this." Samantha said.

"yes, lets." I replied, frustrated that Ami was giving up so easily.

"All who think Ami is innocent, say I" Samantha questioned

"I" Samantha and I said in unison.

"All who think Ami is and should be charged as guilty say I" Samantha said again.

"I" Selene voiced quickly

"I" Ami's voice quietly drifted from the lavender love seat with which she was curled up in.

"Ami... you arnt guilty! Its not your fault! Its your father's!" I yelled, wrapping her in my arms.

"Brandon, I am! If I wasn't reborn-"

"If you weren't reborn, I wouldn't have found my bloodmate." I interrupted her.

"Excuse me?" Samantha's voice whipped out.

"I was hoping to tell you soon but this problem came up and I forgot all about telling you." I replied

"What do you mean ? Bloodmate? How is that possible? No one in five-hundred years has found their bloodmate..."

"Exactly she must be the same girl in the prophecy, but the key was for her to become like her dad, which she isn't. As well as being evil, she has to be half shifter... Drew!"

"What about drew?" Samantha sharply questioned.

"Ami, can we get blood tests from you? When Drew came, he said that he had come for both things that were his. If Gabriel confirms it was Drew looking for him and Ami, then it must be him and Ami would be-"

"Half shifter," Ami breathed, finishing Selene's sentience.

A knock on the door caused us all to jump, and Ami to pale as if she knew what was on the other side of the door. Getting up, she padded to the door, and opened it. A pale, blond boy walked through the door. Eyes the same color as Ami's flashed at me, with the grace of a 'shifter but the speed and accuracy of a vampire, he hit me straight above the heart, both stunning and paralyzing me.

"Ami, darling, you can come with me." the boy said, "And as for you, you can die young king."

"No!" Ami screamed, and a large wall of earth rose in front of me, blocking the sword that was aimed for my neck in hopes of beheading me.

"Stupid wretch!" he muttered.

I heard the sound of a blow hitting home, and Ami's scream filled with pain. The wall of earth fell down. And I could see him pick her up, and mutter, "I will be back, and the Ami you know now, wont be here. She will be that she is prophencyed to be: my daughter.

The world then went black as I heard the man's laughter drift up from the lower floors, as I felt him take my Ami away from me.

"Ami! I will get you back! I promise!" I whispered before blacking out completely.
