The Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ
Author:
Noble Voyager PM
This is something that I wrote while I was pondering over the reason why Jesus, our Lord and Savior, died on the cross for us and came back to life. May His spirit reign in our hearts forever.

We lie; we steal;
We mourn; we envy;
We're filled with arrogance
As if we're all that matter.
We get overwhelmed by our emotions
And feel as if the world revolves around us.
We're torn apart, depressed,
Lonely, and insecure.

We really are sinners by nature.
We are weak, and we sometimes lose ourselves.
Our lives will one day turn to ashes,
Burnt up by the scorching sun
That marks our ebbing days.
All the more does it make us admit
That we do need a Savior.

Do you know that Man
Who died on the cross?
He gave up His own life
for our sins and that
we may have eternal life.
Indeed, His love is immeasurable.
How unconditional His love truly is
Despite the numerous mistakes we've committed.

Beyond our own sorrows and fears,
Your hand is the shelter by which our soul rests upon.
Beyond the darkness that conceals our hope,
You are the light by which our spirit's born.
The gentleness of Your presence
Caresses us like the warmest breeze,
For we know that You are with us,
And each day of our lives is in Your keeping.
