Darling girl, you're getting older.
You're more like your mama every day.
Darling girl, you're leaving me,
You're going your own way.
Your mama shed a few tears
And I just held her hand
As I watched my darling girl
Marry her young man.
How I miss the darling girl
Who'd climb into my lap,
And if she was tired,
She'd stay to take a nap.
Now she has kids of her own
Who come to see me.
Man, it's hard to think my darling girl
Has her own baby!
No one could ever take such a special place.
She'll always be my little Darling girl,
For all the rest of my days.
