"Tell me you love me"
You whisper, your breath
Hot against my ear,
But my throat closes,
And I hold back,
Sensing only my fear.
"Say you love me."
You say ever so gently
With a touch to my cheek,
"I'll never tell anyone,
Admit it only to me."
But my mind races,
My words go mute
I'm unable to speak.
You brush back my hair,
I get tingles every where,
"I love you." You say
With an ease I envy, "But
I need to hear you feel the
Same."
My lips parted, I waited,
But no words came.
I fell you pull away,
I reach out, knowing
I have no right to ask
You to stay.
I stand with silent tears
As you walk away,
"I love you." I say
As I watch your
Shadow fade
