Prologue

I blinked my eyes open. "What...happened?" I asked to no-one in particular. I pushed myself up, as I did, I noticed that the floor was ice-cold. I shot to my feet. The whole room was freezing. Everything was white. Just...white.

I examined my surroundings. It was an a large, empty room. As far as I could tell, it wasn't even a room. It was nothing. No walls, no roof, not even a floor. Clearly there was a floor, though, I was standing right on it. But by looking, you couldn't tell. The walls and floor blended into each other perfectly.

"Okay, What's going on? Where am I?" I called, hoping someone could hear me.

"You don't know?"

"What? Who are you?" Nobody was around, yet I clearly heard a boy's voice. I didn't expect someone would actually hear me. I had merely hoped.

"If you're going to talk to me, I'd appreciate it if you look at me." It said. I could hear the voice's owner frowning as it spoke.

"But...how can I look at you?" I asked. "I don't even know where you are." Suddenly, I heard footsteps coming in my direction. A boy my age strode past. He wore a blue hoodie and had dark hair. He kept his back to me.

"Any better, Princess?" he was clearly annoyed, as was I.

"Not if you're going to call me 'Princess' again." I shot him a glare. Not that it did much, since he couldn't see me.

His arm's were crossed, and he squeezed his muscle in impatience. "Look. I don't have to do this-"

"Do what? Where are we?" I scowled.

He sighed and released his grip, his arms falling to his sides. "This is the place where everything you know began."
