Sánya stumbled; she would never be able to keep this up. Tony was safe- Frenzach wouldn't find the Flame. For the hundredth time she was glad to have given him the relic. Even if it meant that she would die here. Frenzach laughed and started forward again, trapping her in a barrier of shadows.
"You can make this easy, Sányhelinea. It is obvious that you are not in possession of the Flame at this moment. So tell me where you hid it!"
"I turned my back on you a LONG time ago! What makes you think that I would join you once more?"
"Because I know your secret. You care. Give me the Flame and I will not touch any of this world."
"And instead you go and decimate all the other worlds? What is it with you? Why must you DESTROY everything?"
"I see that this was pointless. You have almost become...human."
"And you have fallen so that you are barely more that a nightmare plaguing only the youngest."
"And yet I am the one with all the power!"
"Power? What's this then?" She summoned her dwindling magic and unleashed a torrent of flame around herself. "One step closer and I will BURN you!"
"You cannot leave your circle or I will kill you," Frenzach smiled, pacing said circle's perimeter, "but you have become too human. I can sense it about you. You are a mortal. You will die."
"Top marks for stating the obvious. So, you're planning to starve me out?"
"If that is what it takes."
"All these years we have fought. You never once suppose that I might WANT to die?" She sat cross-legged on the rocky ground "you never realised that because YOU couldn't comprehend yourself dying! Talk of an ego. I have done things just as bad as you- worse in fact. But I- I realised how much we had been wrong."
"GIVE ME THE FLAME!"
"Here it is!" A new voice, a confidence that only the humans possessed. Tony. With the Flame. His black hair more of a brown and his usually brown eyes clearly green, as the Flame stole his humanity. He hurled a spear of borrowed fire and continued her fight...
