Escape to Planet Earth
Preview #1 Blending In
The city sure seemed primitive compared to the one on his planet, but it was the humans planets so why complain, it still looked nice anyways. He couldn't let the scenery distract him though he was on a mission by the commander and he never accepted failures. She wouldn't be that hard to find though, how many humans have cat ears and tails, but then again she could have started blending in. Which reminded him, he was wearing nothing that resembled human apparel, he could even see some staring at him as if he was a freak, he needed new clothing.
He stepped into a nearby alleyway before he started looking around at the shops, one had to have a set of clothes that would suit him. He would need something to cover the top half of his face, his arms and legs, he couldn't let people see his markings. Ah, perfect! He had found exactly what he was looking for. In the store window next to the store across the street he saw a plastic manikin standing in the window wearing a black shirt under a dark blue jacket, blue jeans and black and white shoes.
"Alright buddy, don't fail me now." he said to himself as he pulled out his scanner.
These were used to copy clothing of enemy soldiers once they were down but in this case he would need to blend in. He held it up and watched as the blue screen lit up and started scanning the clothing from across the street. Bit by bit it recorded what the material was and the size. A miniature picture of the get up appeared on the screen before he pulled it away.
"Here goes nothing."
He held the scanner out to that the screen was facing him before it scanned his body. Bit by bit his armor started to disappear and in its place was a piece of clothing, first the helmet, then the torso armor, then the leggings and boots and after each bit disappeared the clothing he had scanned would appear on his body. Now he looked like a human, the hood would cover up most of his face and the jacket sleeves and blue jeans would cover up most of his markings and grey skin.
"Huh, not bad, I guess human clothing is more spacious."
He folded the scanner back up and dropped it into his pocket before he re-entered on the sidewalk. Hopefully she wasn't in danger, that's the last thing he would want.
