Crying desperate tears,

Gasping for air as I try to hold it back,

The tidal wave of sadness that wishes to destroy me,

Wishes to pull me into its dark depths,

I hold it back as best I can,

Bottle it up where no one can see,

Hope it doesn't explode,

I mustn't let anyone see,

How fragile I truly am,

How the slightest word can send me over the edge,

But I refuse to let them know,

So I patch myself up,

But on a fake smile,

And all the while I wish,

That someone would see that it's all a lie,

How I'm ripping my self-apart,

With those simple words,

"Honestly, I'm fine"
