So, I decided to give the "100 Word Challenge" a go. I have one running on my other profile on a different site, but this one will probably be all, or mostly, poetry. This is the first, Introduction.
Summary: The beginning through the end, and all the words in between.
Chapter 1: Introduction
Nerves batter my brain
You're so enticing, my dear
You're bringing out my anxiety,
But it's not you I fear
/
Beginnings are what I fear
That first greeting always so hard to say
It dances on my tongue
And I'm worried I'll drive you away
/
But, how will I know
If I don't take the chance
All it takes is just one word
One invitation to dance
/
So I stumble in
And almost run into you
One word, and two syllables
Still unsure of what to do
/
A hand through your hair, a subtle wave
Your smile a sharp crescendo
Taking a breath, I softly exhale
And finally say hello
