A+ A- |
Everyone wants to be loved,
Adored and yearned for.
Everyone pines after warm embraces,
In the winter,
And eyes that stare only at you-
That can find cuteness in your every quirk,
Who can find perfection in your smiles.
Another human,
Who revels in your devotion,
Who wants to steal your touches
And keep them wrapped up tight
All for themselves.
Everyone's seeking them.
Looking, searching,
desperately,
For the people who make
Their hollow hearts
Start beating again,
With adrenaline or heat
Or spicy passion or happiness-
With life.
The cloud in their skies
That never goes gray.
The song that always sounds new,
When it tickles their eardrums
With a melody
That sets their eyelids a flutter.
Yes…
Everyone's looking for a butterfly boy,
With a rose between his teeth,
Or a summer girl,
With sunshine curls and no objections.
But this is real life,
And love is all too real,
It's painful, excruciating-
But the longing,
Is probably the part,
That devours you the most.
It makes me think,
It's better to be alone,
With dreams smothered in bubblewrap,
Along with a heart,
Stitched from silk
Or molded from porcelain.
Because this is real life.
And love is all too real.
