Roses boast of beauty.

They deem themselves divine.

For, they say, never will you find anything softer than their petals,

No such beauty as their sight will ever delight your eyes.

Never will a flower represent more love than they.

Never will a flower bloom so beautifully.

Never will you experience a more pleasing smell.

But when you walk past a rose…

She will retract her petals into her painfully.

She will keep her aroma to herself.

She will suddenly fall silent.

She will try to turn invisible.

For you put every rose to shame, my love.

Your beauty is escorted by grace that roses cannot gloat of.

Your scent is heavenly

And love you give with an open heart.

You hide no thorns.

When you walk past a rose and pluck her from the tree

You breathe in her scent and marvel over her beauty.

She stands in awe that such a goddess as you could fawn over such a worthless rose.

Then you, my love, have made the little rose's day.
