Wages and War

The War rages on

soon everything fades away

memories,wishes…..people

The War rages on

It shows no mercy

It takes everything

We are afraid

We are afraid of what is to come

We are afraid of what is happening

Mostly we are afraid of men,

Humans,

Ourselves

We are afraid to admit we are afraid

so we try to stay strong

We fight

We try to hold on to all we have left

We are our own evil

We are our own enemy

so we fight even if it's not right

The War rages on

but one day that evil shall fade

We shall fight

Ourselves

Our minds

Our physical beings

They cannot fight our hearts

our courage and our faith

Oppression will never succeed

with oppression there is rebellion

and with rebellion shine our light

Not theirs

for our light is strong and true

like a candle lighting a dark path

While theirs is faded and untruthful

but for now

The War rages on
