Prologue

Picture it, a cold winter day. Twelve lives, all different, all incomplete. Oh sure some of these lives have already made strong bonds with each other but it was like a puzzle without all the pieces. It just didn't work.

These souls consisted of a genius, an artist, a cancer fighter, a poet, a Goth and a lesbian just to name a few. So different and yet deep down they were all the same. They needed each other, even if they didn't know it. Not just for friendship, for survival.

Slowly but surely they are slipping further and further into that dark void that is known as death, with nothing to help them claw themselves back up they will most definitely die. This really is a matter of life or death. What will it take to show these girls that they are not alone and with each other they can find homes?

With so many antagonists it's a wonder that they have a chance at all. An abusive parent or two or three, a sexist principal, two bitchy evil cheerleaders, and three sisters; all against them. Was there no one on their side besides each other?

Eeny, meeny, miny, mo. Choose a girl, any girl, the one who you relate to most. Step into her shoes and imagine that this is happening to you what would you do? Go on I know you want to answer it… If you truly knew me… what would you know?
