A+  A-   Full 3/4 1/2 Expand Tighten

Here's a story for all you sick and twisted people out there. To stop the need for pain and cap the fill of that dark romance. Unique the word we use to soften the blow when we call someone weird, unusual or inhuman. In other words not normal. But what is normal? What may be normal to one person could be out of the ordinary to the other. Kw and Eclipse were two of the most unique people in Maine. Many of the locals would say they were related from their shared similarities but their blood ran in different circles. Kw was a thin girl she wasn't much but she had beauty in her if you really knew her. Those eyes although brown shone bright behind her multicolored hair. Kw was insistent on make-up to hide what every stressed out teen had … acne. She out lined her eyes in thick black lines because to her that made them less boring, she covered her body in black baggy clothes. Because when Kw looked in the mirror she never saw the truth, she didn't see the beauty in her face in those eyes or the curves that brought every boy to his knees. No, instead her mind showed her a monster with a face that gave everyone nightmares; if she could she would wear a paper bag over her face for the rest of her life just to hide the shame. Her body never looked right to her, she felt like she was expanded from the neck down in all the wrong places. Some days when she walked she felt like she would bust through the floor or even the earth, maybe one day she would find herself in China, or space at the rate she was going. But in reality Kw was a normal size a perfect size for Eclipse. She had heard once on TV that black made you look slimmer so after tossing every brightly colored shirt she owned and replacing them with black she started a new her, with the help of her anorexia of course. Now you see Kw had her own issues a mess with in a mess more problems than the average teen but things would get worse, things always got worse. It was black or white never gray. Eclipse was similar to Kw unique in his own way. Eclipse never fat in with the other boys he was to thin and too tall. His hair was always blacker then normal and sat in front of his vibrant green eyes. He spoke quietly and when nervous pulled at his lip ring with his teeth. Eclipse sat in the back and was always silent with watchful eyes. He saw the girls with shirts that hugged them closely cut very low; saw how they threw themselves at the boys with the self-injected muscles. But no girls threw themselves at him so he sat with his hood drawn eyes wide. Eclipse had problems, a druggie mother who was on the verge of death. Two young sisters looking for a role model that he couldn't be. He was only 17 for Christ sake and never knew what a father was like. All he knew was how not to become his so called father.

He had school problems as well, failing most of his classes except for English. The fact that loser was practicably tattooed on his forehead. He had never had a girlfriend and never been kissed. His life was a classic sad tail twisted in his own way. But Eclipse and Kw had both tried they had both tried to escape their everyday pains. The kiss of a razor had been the attempted escape but both Eclipse and Kw failed coming out with a display of scares forever on their skin.

The day Kw and Eclipse met was a very normal day. After the rain had cleared and the sun broke through the thick bearer of black clouds highlighting the newly refreshed plant life. A breeze carried the scent of rain sending Kw out for a walk and Eclipse out with his sisters to hide them from his tripped out mother. Kw had pasted the ran down skate park inhaling deeply as she walking into a patch of sunlight warming her body. Two little girls ran into her screaming from shock as they fell to the ground tangled together. Kw tried to help them up pulling each child up gentle apologizing. The little girls smoothed down their golden hair and flashed two brilliantly bright smiles at Kw, "its ok miss." They said their voice ringing sweetly together. "Shit!" a deeper voice sounded from a far followed by quickened footsteps. Kw looked up and the two little girls jumped to her side grabbing her hand warming them at the touch. "There you are! I look away for one minute and . . . "the boy cut of midsentence and looked at Kw his eyes slowly working over her. He looked down quickly ashamed as if he just realized what he had been doing, "Girls what happened?" he asked more to his shoes then to them. But the girls where to busy looking over Kw, "Look Eclipse she's so beautiful!" one said, causing both Kw and Eclipse to blush. "Her hair is so colorful Eclipse!" the other replied. Kw looked at the boy who she was guessing was Eclipse, he glanced up apologetic. "Girls…." He said but they ignored him once again. The little girl in the faded red dress turned over Kw's exposed arm and gasped, "Look Eclipse she has marks just like you!" Kw jerked her arm away ashamed and Eclipse jerked his head up enraged. "That's enough leave her alone!" he yelled, although his voice never got higher than the normal level it was enough to send a chills down all three of the girls spins. The little girls apologized more to the ground then to Kw and found their way back to Eclipse's side. He looked at her with shame at the fact that he had to claim these rude girls as his sisters. "I'm um sorry," Eclipse said. But it was fine Kw was use to little kids and their questioning looks following by their comments. Something about this boy, Eclipse, his black hair that had a slight glare in the sunlight, the eyes that looked at her green and pleading for forgiveness. He pulled at his rainbow lip ring causing his lip to pull in then release in a nervous manner. Although it was a nice day he wore a dark purple hoodie that hung over his tight black pants. "Did he feel it too?" Kw wondered as his eyes searched hers.

And in fact Eclipse did he noticed how her brown eyes were slowly turning green, the way her blue bangs slightly moved in the wind but if you looked further down you could see the change from blue to a dark purple similar to his hoodie in her hair. He noted the baggie black shirt she wore as if she was hiding her body from the world. How her worn skinny jeans hugged her tightly the only thing showing the true out lines of her body. The girls hadn't been lying she did have a verity of scars a crossed her wrists just as he did, and from then on out they became inseparable. From that day Eclipse and Kw stayed together. After walking from the ran down skate park they continued to walk without a destination. Eclipse listened quietly as Kw shared her troubles a weird senses of courage had washed over her. And when Eclipse shared his he was shy at first but Kw encouraged him pushing him forward to open up. And as he did he began to feel relieved, like the crushing weight of the world had been shared onto Kw. Several weeks had gone by and Eclipse had begun to come over to Kw's more often bringing the girls with him as well. Kw lived alone her parents had died and left her the house she never did explain how she could write a check once a month to pay the bills but she always did on time. The girls would sleep in their own little room as Kw and Eclipse got comfortable in the living room it had become somewhat of a routine.

The night it had happened it was raining, kw was curled up on the couch sipping her tea as the TV changed images. The door swung open with a bang and kw jumped throwing her tea in the air screaming. "Sorry babe . . . sorry." Eclipse walked in behind the two little girls who weren't even half awake. He was breathing heavy the type of breathing you had just before you broke down and cried. Kw got up ignoring the mess of tea now running down the wall onto the remains of her once favorite tea cup; she guided the two sleepy girls with the tousled golden hair into bed. As she tucked them in she kissed them on their head something her mother had never done. Closing the door behind her she looked back at them sound asleep and wondered if they liked their life here with her and Eclipse. Kw made her way to the master bedroom where she found Eclipse sitting on the ground his head in his hands; she sat down beside him pulling him into her. "What is wrong my love?" she asked running her hands through his hair that was still damp from the rain. He spoke the words she already knew was coming but she said nothing letting him say what needed to be said. "She died Kw, an overdose, oh! What will we do! I'm not yet 18 they will take the girls from me!" Eclipse sobbed into Kw's chest wrapping his arms around her tightly. Kw took hold of Eclipses face and made him look at her, she gazed into his watery green eyes and saw the pain and confusion he had. As the tears ran down his face and onto her hand she marveled at how strong he must be to cry in front of a girl, and that made her love for him deepen. A man willing to show his true raw self was a true man one worth fighting for. She leaned forward and locked lips with him, they bite each other first and it was a tad clumsy but for being their first kiss it was something worth remembering. But as the kiss deepened Kw began to feel feelings of turmoil, anger a great whole was now inside her heart, these were not her feelings these were Eclipse's feelings. Kw pulled away looking at Eclipse in confusion, "Did you feel that?" Eclipse nodded but he wasn't really there he was physically but mentally he was gone. "Will you do something for me?" Eclipse asked in slurred words. Kw grabbed the back of his head as it began to fall back. "Anything," she said. "Cut me." Now Kw didn't gasp or drop him at this request, she didn't run out disgusted because what he wanted she wanted. The kiss did something to them she felt his pain underneath all the happiness they had shared she could feel what he had pushed away. She knew he could feel hers as well, and then the two unique teens once failed escape came back in a different light holding a different possibility because they had each other. Kw reached underneath the bed and pulled out a card bored box decorated in black words inside she extracted two small razors, small but very deadly. Kw handed one to Eclipse and he sat up they looked at each other for a moment and then Eclipse handed Kw his arm and Kw handed Eclipse her arm. In the dim light of the room the two people who looked similar in ways locked lips once more the pain surging through them like a bolt of electricity. They began to carving into each other deep swift cuts into the skin. And with every blood drop that fell out of them they began to lose the feeling of pain and sorrow, the blood ran down their arms like red rivers falling onto the carpet and mixing together. Between the two of them there was too much unsolved pain and no amount of cutting would ever solve that. They kissed deeper and deeper as the cuts grew deeper soon they sat in a pool of each other's blood, both of their arms unrecognizable. They had ran dry, out of blood out of pain and for once their escape hadn't failed they had reached the untouchable happiness together.

It's never gray its ether black or white, good or bad there is no in between no almost perfect. They had found their soul mates the ones that loved them for who they were and would always be, the ones that didn't put labels on them. And they had done the impossible together they had stopped their misery, it's a sad story a tad sick, wouldn't you say? But who is to judge what ones desires? We sure aren't. They were infected with the twisted pains of love and life and it got the best of them.
