| For People Like Me
Author: Shy Scribe This poem is for others struggling with their shy ways. I am here to say I'm in your shoes, and it's okay to be quiet. If that's who you are, don't change simply because society gravitates toward the loud types of people.

For People Like Me
For all the shy people in the world
Don't change your means on this day
For them, don't try to seem less demure
No matter what the others say
Being you means doing what's natural
Acting will only hurt more
So what if you're quiet and not as outgoing
Doesn't mean your expression needs force
That person's words haunted me
They said, 'don't fear, come out of your shell'
And for a while I tried not to flee
'Till my story was lost with none to tell
Maybe there's no such thing as 'shy'
Could it be it's a guarded decision?
You can't help if people tell only lies
And perceive you with the wrong vision
I wonder if I'll ever learn not to hide
From the Earth with stares so cold
Remember that it's for you to decide
How much you show the rest of the world
