Parent: Elegy of the Soul
Prompt: None
Character(s)/Pairing: N/A
Rating: T
Word Count: 60
Summary: About an abused child.
Authors Notes: One of my old poems.

~Start~

Swirling song of the dead,
pounding inside my head.
Need to take a Tylenol,
before I go AWOL.
Holding back my fear,
as all my family sneer.
Burying my face in my knees,
so I don't have to see.
My life is broke,
every day it makes me choke.
Waking up in this jail;
" Whoever said home isn't hell? "

Title: Endless Rains
Parent: Elegy of the Soul
Prompt: None
Character(s)/Pairing: N/A
Rating: T
Word Count: 130
Summary: Sister poem to ' Welcome home ' when the child has become a depressed adult and is thinking back.
Authors Notes: One of my old poems.

~Start~

An emptiness that cries;
a cigarette bun that stings.
Looking toward the skies
and holding back my screams.

They say thinking about it is bad,
but just how can I forget?
So happy, yet I'm sad.
Still soaking in regrets.

I remember the smell of smoke
and a chill still in the air.
The thoughts that make me choke;
alone and oh so scared.

A wish of life re-pure.
To live within the rain.
Sill waiting for the cure,
in the drops of joy and pain.

Blue trails of nothing at all,
racing down my fingers.
Faster black clouds crawl;
all the things that linger.

The only sound is dripping.
Reflections in the puddles that have grown.
The fabric of my life is ripping,
but where can you run if you're already home?

Title: So Many Things Are Stupid
Parent: Elegy of the Soul
Prompt: None
Character(s)/Pairing: N/A
Rating: T
Word Count: 170
Summary: Another sister to ' Welcome home ' and ' Endless rains '.
Authors Notes: One of my old poems.

~Start~

I'd kill to be you,
because then I wouldn't know
all the things I've had to do.
I could act like the star of the show.
So many things are stupid, envy is just one.

There is truth in lies;
the things you never see.
And it's my words that die,
from all the things I'll never be.
So many things are stupid, not speaking is just one.

And the impact hurts,
I can't help but fall down.
Landing face-first in the dirt,
from all the new pain that I've found.
So many things are stupid, not standing back up is just one.

Sometimes I don't want to think,
because I don't want to remember
the pain that makes me shrink,
and comes in endless tremors.
So many things are stupid, hiding away is just one.

I bet you'd never guess
this poem is about a girl,
with a life that's a total mess,
in a totally messed up world.
So many things are stupid, I'm just one.

Title: This Song (An Untitled Life)
Parent: N/A
Prompt: Elegy of the Soul
Character(s)/Pairing: N/A
Rating: T
Word Count: 90
Summary: Sister poem. About melow-depression.
Authors Notes: One of my old poems.

~Start~

Is there someone I can sue
for this obstruction of truth?
To know ever word was a lie.
Nights split open by my cries.
I woke up yesterday,
there was nothing I could say.
And I thought it was a dream.
I just wanna scream.
An emptiness that's endless,
trying to find my wholeness.
Yet so many things I feel.
Break my hearts cold seal.
Now the walls are all tumbling down,
and it's all without a sound.
Listless weeping of my mind,
because in the end this song is all you'll find.
